Benjamin Edward Robinson passed away Monday, February 17, 2014.
He was the son of Walter Edward and Susan Elinor Robinson.
As a youth, Ben lived in Wilton Center. As an adult, he made his family home in Manhattan for over 30 years before retiring to Missouri and then California.
In 2003, they returned to Illinois and resided in the area until he passed away.
Ben was a veteran of World War II and served as an airplane mechanic in the Army Air Corps in Kansas City, Missouri and Pampa, Texas.
He met his bride, Leora Mildred Pollick, in Kansas City, Missouri and they married on September 6, 1944 in Joliet, Illinois. They were happily married for 69 years.
Ben worked as a welder for Standard Oil for more than twenty years, and then for L.E. Meyers Company until he retired.
Following retirement, Ben and Leora traveled the United States.
Ben is survived by his four children, Marilyn L. (Steve) Girton, Carol L. (Jim) See, William T. Robinson and Nancy K. (Bill) Brandon. He was the grandfather to seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
