Mrs. Ida Bell Remsen, 83, of Lincolnton entered into rest on June 15, 2015.
Mrs. Remsen was born in McDuffie County to the late John Phillips and the late Essie Tudor Phillips.
She worked with Garland Knitting Mills and retired as a quality control inspector. She lived in Norwood many years and was married to the late Alton W. Johnson. She was a member of Norwood United Methodist Church, where she served as the youth director. Mrs. Remsen later married the late Guy Remsen and moved to Lincolnton where she became a member of Goshen Baptist Church and taught Sunday school.
Interment followed in Scruggs Cemetery, Norwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son, Richard Rodney Johnson.
Survivors include her sons, Thad W. Johnson (Meia) of Martinez, Alan B. Johnson (Robin) of Norwood; daughter, Phyllis J. Johnson of Washington; brothers, Jack Phillips of Wrens, John Dee Phillips of Port Arthur, Texas, Gene Phillips of Columbus; sisters, Dovie Reed of Lincolnton, Doris Harwell of Virginia Beach, Va.; grandchildren, Jennifer M. Parks, Megan Johnson and Phillip Johnson; and great-grandchild, Dennis Parks III.
