Pauline Teresa Rogez, a longtime resident of the Henryetta area, died May 19, 2013 in Tulsa at the age of 98. Pauline was born Aug. 30, 1914 in Empire, Ala., to Wilburn Roby Ingle and Cealie Shoun Ingle. Pauline grew up in the Dewar area, attended Dewar Schools, but later graduated from Coalton High School. After graduating in May, she married Henry F. Rogez on May 18, 1932 in Checotah. She and Henry moved to Pleasant Valley to be near family. Pauline and Henry later moved to Detroit, Michigan in order for Henry to pursue his dream of becoming a big league baseball player with the Detroit Tigers. When the war arrived, Henry was drafted into the US Navy. Pauline and family moved to California to be with Henry while he served. After the war, they returned to Pleasant Valley. Pauline was a longtime member of the Schulter Methodist Church. She was also a faithful member of Eastern Star, Worthy Matron and Rebecca Lodge. She is preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Henry F. Rogez; a daughter, Janet' Williams; a brother, Leon Ingle; a sister, Norma Ruth Streight; a grandson, Robert Rogez; and a son-in-law, Wayne Roney. Viewing will be held Wednesday, May 22 from 5 to 8 p.m., and Thursday, May 23 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Integrity Funeral Service. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, May 24, 2013 at 2 p.m. at First Church of the Nazarene in Henryetta with Rev. Lowell Churchill officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.
