KERRVILLE - On Friday, June 29, 2007, Ila Marie Osborne was reunited with her husband, Wayne Floyd (Wimpy) Osborne and her sister, Livie Chism Walker.
Born Dec. 29, 1920, in Burnet County, she was the second daughter of Allison (Ell) Key and Ellie Maxwell Key. Her and her family moved to Kerrville in the early 1930s and she remained a resident of Kerrville until her death.
During World War II, she began working at HEB Grocery. She worked there until she married in 1943 and began a career as a housewife then a Mother in 1945 when the first of three children was born.
In order to support three young children after the death of her husband Wayne in 1957, she worked at Pampell's Drug Store while she attended Mrs. Dikeman's Business School. She always laughed that she could take dictation, but could not read it back. After business school, she started working for Darrel Lochte and Kerr County Abstract where she learned to be an Abstractor. She remained in the abstract business until she retired from Kerrville Title and Abstract Company.
She is survived by three children, Floy Marie Jung and Judith Kay Pope of Kerrville and Weldon Osborne and wife Becky of Conway, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Wanda Kierce Mann and husband James of Mansfield, Texas, Wayne Kierce of Kerrville, William Kierce and Sabrena of Comfort, Weldon Osborne Jr. and wife Rhonda of Damascas, Arkansas, Miranda Osborne Swann and husband Charles of Damascas, Arkansas; twelve great grandchildren, Savannah Lanik, Tadge Davis, Derrek Houghton, Ashley Mann, Jennifer Houghton, Kristen Mann, Tatumn Kierce, Michael Osborne, Dalton Osborne, Tregg Kierce, Dallas Osborne, and Brayden Osborne. Also surviving are sister-in-law, Alice Baker of Floydada, TX; brother-in-law Glenn Osborne of Comfort; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Osborne will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels with Pastor Donald Rauhut officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Kierce, William Kierce, James Mann, Weldon Osborne Jr., Tadge Davis and Derrick Houghton. Memorial remembrances may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.
