Charles W. Foster Services Are Today
Charles W. Foster of Scottsville, father of Mrs. Neomi Butler of Glasco, died at the Community Hospital, Beloit, Saturday, December 23. He was 86.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Butler of Glasco, Mrs. Maxine Auldridge of Beloit, Mrs. Juanita Bandel of Kansas City and Mrs. Ida Vestal of Lincoln; four sons, Cecil Foster and Joseph Foster of Wichita, Kenneth Foster of Buhl, Idaho and Charles Foster of Downs.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Presbyterian Church in Scottsville Thursday, December 28, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Charles Farmer officiating. Interment will be in West Hope Cemetery

Charley W. Foster
Charley Welcome Foster, son of Thomas and Sarah Hodges Foster, was born May 12, 1881, at Pleasant Hill, Mo., and died December 23, 1967, at the Beloit Community Hospital. He was 86 years, 7 months and 11 days of age.
Charley was born and raised in Pleasant Hill, Mo. He came to Kansas in 1896 and worked and farmed for the Goodrich and Hutton families.
He was married to Clara Erma Hutton April 16, 1910, and they lived on the Hutton farm until 1915, then moved to Custer, Okla., until 1919. He returned to Kansas and resided in the Beloit and Scottsville community for the past 45 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and one son-in-law, John Butler, one great grandson, Jeffery Majors, and one brother, William Foster.
Survivors include his eight children: Mrs. Kenneth (Maxine) Auldridge, Beloit; Cecil Foster, Wichita; Mrs. John (Neomi) Butler, Glasco; Mrs. Floyd (Ila) Vestal, Lincoln; Kenneth Foster, Buhl, Idaho; Joseph Foster, Wichita; Mrs. Arnold (Juanita) Bandel, Kansas City, Mo.; and Charles Foster, Downs; three sons-in-law, four daughters-in-law, 19 grandchildren and six great grandchildren, one sister-in-law and one brother-in-law, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services were held December 28 at the Presbyterian Church in Scottsville with Rev. Charles Farmer officiating. Interment was in West Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Burton Richards, Jim Cady, Howard Abernathy, Elden Lane, Max Croisant and James Black.
Donald Stilwell sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond the Sunset," accompanied by Mrs. Arnon Reames. Flowers were cared for by Mrs. Alice Hale, Mrs. Mary Roberts, and Mrs. Max Croisant.
McDonald Funeral Home of Beloit was in charge of arrangements.
