Clinton, Evelyn Bales – age 82, of the Asbury community, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013. She is predeceased by husband, Lloyd S. Clinton; parents, W.R. (Tom) and Trula Palmer Bales; and grandson, Andrew. She is survived by sons and their families, Gary and wife Jeanne, Randy and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Greg (Meredith), Matt (Sherry), Phillip (Laura), Stephanie Clinton, and Samantha Clinton Dockery (Aaron); and five great grandchildren, Erin, Daniel, Audrey, Andrew, and Henry. She also leaves her sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jo and Earl Rutherford; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Special thanks to the doctors and staff of 7 South at UT Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Charlie McNutt and Rev. Larry Murphy officiating followed by the interment at Asbury Cemetery. She will lie in state before the service from 1:00-2:00 PM. Pallbearers: Aaron Dockery, Greg and Matt Clinton, Jim Bob, Eric, and Nick Cox, and Mike Andrews. Honorary pallbearers: Staff Sgt. Phillip Clinton, USMC, Stephanie Clinton, and Samantha Dockery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Asbury United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2820 Asbury Road, Knoxville, TN 37914. A reception of friends will be 5:00-7:00 PM Saturday evening at Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, 865-523-4999.
