Funeral services for Robert L. Patton, 81, Fayetteville resident and former resident of Giles County, were held at 3:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon in Higgins Funeral Home in Fayetteville with the Rev. Mack Pinkelton of Pulaski officiating. Burial took place in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Patton died Friday, November 6, in Lincoln County Hospital.
Born November 22, 1882, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Jim Patton and Sarah McAdams Patton. For many years he was an employee of Standard Oil Company having traveled around the world twice. He retired in 1930. Since retirement from the oil company, he had farmed in both Giles and Lincoln Counties.
Mr Patton is survived by his wife, Mrs. Betty Raby Patton; two sons, Joe R. Patton and James E. Patton, both of Huntsville, Ala.; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ezella Gibson and Mrs. Will Gibson, both of Fayetteville; and one brother, Sidney Patton, Lincoln County.
