84, died quietly on January 7, 2007 at Brighton Gardens in San Dimas, California.
He was born on February 25, 1922 in Summers, Arkansas to Munrow and Sarah Catherine Forester, and was the second youngest of twelve children. He married his first wife, Juanita Poore, in 1940, and a daughter, Donna, was born of their marriage.
In 1951, he married his second wife, Lella Hilliard Lineberry. Lella's son, Michael Lineberry, became Bert's step-son with this union, and Bert's second daughter, Kimberly, was born.
Bert was a Radioman, 2nd Class, in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He often recalled his memories of that pivotal time in history, while he served on board the USS Frazier, a Tin Can Destroyer ship, from September 1942 to November 1945.
In 1960, Bert moved his family from California to his native Arkansas, where he enjoyed a life of farming and engaging in a variety of business ventures.
After 44 years, he left Arkansas and returned to Southern California in 2004, to live near his daughter, Donna, and his extended family members there.
His wife Lella, preceded him in death in February 1997; as did his first wife, Juanita Underwood, who died in December 1998.
He is survived by his two daughters and their husbands: Donna and Jim Milliorn, Upland, CA; Kimberly Forester and Marc Evans, Pullman WA; stepson, Michael Lineberry and his wife, Bonnie, Idaho Falls ID; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a sister Ruth Teal, of Pomona CA; eleven nieces, nine nephews and their families; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law and their families; and last but not least, his beloved and devoted little dog companion, Buddy.
