Doris was the first born daughter of Charles and Beatrice Betts. She was a graduate of the Katzenbach School for the Deaf in Trenton. She worked for a company in Edison, NJ and only retired when that company moved its business to the west. She loved taking care of the family home property and worked very hard at the grounds. She inherited her mother's ability to make delicious cakes, pies and meals. Doris also loved doing embroidery. She visited most of her cousins who live nearby and enjoyed taking day trips to the Jersey shore with her cousin. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Cranbury, NJ.
