Claudia J. Fox, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away at the age of 67 on Jan. 18, 2010, at Texas Tech University Medical Center.
Claudia was born in Long Beach, Calif., the daughter of the late Loris and Odessa (Williams) Ricker. She was raised in Hardesty, Okla., and graduated from Hardesty High School. After moving to Lubbock in the late 1970s, Claudia was a dedicated civil servant in law enforcement for the City of Lubbock. Claudia served outstandingly in the critical position of Communications Manager for the police department and emergency responders. Claudia retired in 2003 after many years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Clifton Ricker.
Claudia is survived by her daughter, Angie Jackson of Lubbock; and sons, Toby Fox and Reggie Coleman, both of Lubbock. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Ashleigh, Adam and wife Christina of Houston, and John and Scott Jackson. Claudia is also survived by siblings, Leda Barnum, Paul Ricker and Nelson Ricker; and close extended family, Carole and Randall Cates, and Sybil Tharp, all three also Lubbock residents.
The funeral service for Claudia will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010 in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel, with Dr. Ken Horn officiating. Internment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday, Jan. 22, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Resthaven.
