Hickory - Sarah Helen Davis, 72, died Sept. 6, 2009, at Springs of Catawba. Mrs. Davis was born Aug. 7, 1937, in Albany, Ky., to the late Herbert Edwin and Dora Ann Branham Booher. She was a member of St. Albans Episcopal Church. She is survived by her husband, Carl L. Davis; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Alyson Davis, Beth Deal and husband, David, and Katherine Shoffner and husband, David; one son and daughter-in-law, Timothy P. Davis and wife, Lesley; a brother and sister-in-law, Dwain Booher and wife, Jane; four granddaughters, Bonnie Deal Johns, Julia Shoffner, Morgan Davis and Meredith Ryncarz; and three grandsons, Daniel Deal, Lane Shoffner and Andrew Davis. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009. at St. Albans Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Beth Lilly officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
